Things to do…

From the pictures in the Gallery, you will see that the facilities at Camping du Quinquis represent a typical French campsite, unsophisticated and ideal for those who wish to make their own entertainment on holiday.  There are no discos or nightclubs on site!!

The nearest large town to Le Pouldu is Lorient (30 minutes by car) where there are numerous hypermarkets.  However, within 15 minutes drive from the campsite there are many small towns, all of which have a range of shops and wonderful weekly markets.

Le Pouldu has an appealing harbour and is on the estuary of the River Laita.  You can sail or canoe through the forest of Toulfoen to Quimperlé, or get a licence and fish the river instead.

…and things to see

Three gorgeous sandy stretches of beach with rocky bays are as near as 2km from the site.  Some 10km away, the beaches of Guidel are renowned for windsurfing and surfing.

Food at the local restaurants, notable for fine fish dishes and fresh local vegetables, is generally inexpensive.

The countryside around Le Pouldu is unspoilt - a real pleasure - there are uncrowded roads, charming fishing ports, splendid beaches and attractive villages, many bringing back memories and traditions of the past.  Slightly further afield there is Carnac, with its standing stones, the mediaeval town of Vannes, the walled port of Concarneau, the painter’s favourite Pont Aven, and so much more.
